The Conference „Transforming towards a sustainable society – challenges and solutions” taking place from October 11 to 13, 2023, at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany), brought together scientists and interested experts from various fields of sustainability-related research, technology, innovation, economy, and politics. The conference was held in frame of the KIT Science Week 2023 and organized in 5 plenary sessions and 4 groups of parallel sessions. The topics for the plenary sessions were: (1) Governance and Economy, (2) Innovative Energy Technologies, (3) Nature Based Solutions, (4) Solutions and Resilience, and (5) Transformation towards a sustainable society.
Around 100 people from academia, industry and policy makers attended the conference.
In order to interact with a different scientific community, not familiar with the Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design concept and HARMLESS, Veronica Di Battista (from BASF) attended the conference and presented a poster on the Safe and Sustainable by design strategies for Advanced manufactured materials being developed in HARMLESS, concretely applied to the case studies on perovskites materials for catalysis (one of HARMLESS’ case studies).
