General Assembly M37 in Ludwigshafen

Right after the holiday break, all project partners met in Ludwigshafen (Germany) during 10 and 11 January for the M37 General Assembly of the HARMLESS project. The two-day gathering was intense and filled with very interesting presentations highlighting the latest project developments, and fruitful discussions on future endeavours.

The assembly served as an excellent platform not only for showcasing the progress made in the different work packages in the last months but also for engaging in productive discussions to shape the project’s trajectory to define the next steps to be taken, ensuring a coordinated and strategic approach.

Additionally, HARMLESS’ Early Career Researchers took the initiative to organize a Poster Pitch Session, providing an opportunity for them to present their work. This session allowed these talented researchers to showcase their contributions and receive valuable feedback from the rest of the team. This was our ECRs team:

  • Veronica di Battista (BASF) – 1 poster entitled “Oxide perovskites for automotive catalysts bio transform and induce multi-component clearance and hazard
  • Sian Brooks (SU) – 2 posters entitled “In vitro assessment of MCNM and HARN – Benchmark Materials” and “In vitro assessment of MCNM and HARN – Perovskite Case Study
  • Gergana Tancheva (IDEA) – 1 poster entitled “Automatic workflow for in vitro high-throughput screening data FAIRification, preprocessing and scoring” (Version 2) – DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.10517627
  • Rico Ledwith (BfR) – 2 posters entitled “Perovskite Case Study Materials: Cytotoxicity and Reactivity assays” and “Towards the development of an in vitro testing strategy for fibres

Special thanks to our BASF colleagues, Wendel Wohlleben and Veronica Di Battista, for hosting the meeting at their facilities and making possible to visit some of their impressive labs. Their warm hospitality and effective organization contributed significantly to our successful meeting.
